NZAS 2021 Mid Winter Christmas InviteDear NZ Antarctic Society Members and Friends

Having missed the opportunity last year due to Covid, please join us for our annual mid-winter dinner. This year we are very lucky to have Associate Professor Barbara Bollard from AUT speaking on the Virtual Reality work she and her team did in and around the restoration of the historic Trans Antarctic Expedition Hut (Hillary Hut), at Scott Base. She and members of her team will present some of the imagery from their work as well as having a Virtual Reality headset and UAV at the RNZYS on the night.

Don’t miss the opportunity to dine at one of the most scenic restaurants in New Zealand (and see the America’s Cup!) It is a special night with awesome food, very attentive staff, a rare look into the TAE Hut and you are welcome to ask questions on our live video link to Scott Base.

Details are below and in the attached flyer. We welcome family, work colleagues and friends to celebrate the shortest day in NZ (or the continuation of the long night to those on the ice!)
