The Auckland Branch of the New Zealand Antarctic Society is pleased to invite you to celebrate the winter solstice with our traditional mid-winter Christmas Dinner, where we will be thinking of those currently
at Scott Base (and hopefully a chat through a live video link). We will be toasting the current crew, as well as those who have gone before.
Our after-dinner speaker will be Jenny Hillman, an Auckland University PhD student (pictured left) who will be showing some photos and telling us about a recent scientific expedition she was involved with under the ice of McMurdo Sound, exploring how climate change is affecting the marine biodiversity in Antarctica. Please join us for refreshments and a great Christmas themed meal at the Royal NZ Yacht Squadron, followed by the presentation.
Partners and friends (prospective members!) all welcome.
Event Cost is $54.00 (including Three Course Meal) per person. There is a cash bar – drinks are additional & your cost.
